HOW IT WORKS

Guests come up one at a time. We talk for a minute or two—
about something simple, or something real.

Then I write.

Each poem is typed live on a typewriter and handed to them on the spot.
Because each poem is written live and personalized, I typically create around 10–12 poems per hour.

WHAT KIND OF POEMS CAN YOU EXPECT?

I write free-verse poems shaped by a brief conversation and the moment we’re in. They’re usually a few lines to a few stanzas, and often end up putting words to something people didn’t quite know how to say. Each poem takes the space it needs—no more, no less.
